Inorganic nanoparticles for electrocatalysis

JPC_C.jpg

We are exploring the use of plasmonic nanoparticles and related materials, e.g., carbon derivatives for electrocatalytic applications in energy applications. We work in Oxygen Reduction Reaction (ORR), Oxygen Evolution Reaction (OER), Hydrogen Evolution Reaction (HER) and Nitrogen Reduction Reaction (NRR). We are of course open to other electrocatalysis challenges and looking forward to receive new samples!

Studying short peptides at air/liquid interfaces

We are highly interested in the study of biologically relevant derivatives of biomolecules, in view of the usage of purposefully designed building blocks in self-assembly and nanomedicine. We look out for general guidelines relating the amino acid sequence with the capabilities for self-assembly at fluid interfaces. We work in collaboration with Prof. Álvarez de Cienfuegos from Granada in this exciting field.
