Prof. Dr. Cano is expert in nanoparticles with bio- and energy applications. He obtained his PhD in the University of Córdoba (2008). Dr. Cano has worked with Dr. Chantal Larpent (Lavoisier Institute) from 2010 to 2012, and BIONAND (Málaga, Spain). He is back at the University of Córdoba as Associate Professor in the Physical Chemistry department, bringing along exciting ideas and an ever growing enthusiasm for the nano world!
Ángela came to our lab as a biologist looking for new points of view on Chemistry works. She took part on the very first year of the M.Sc. in Chemistry Tools for Industry (2023). Ángela is mainly involved in a rather remarkable project for transfer of chemical knowldege to the rural environment with a gender perspective. Ángela is showing every day that science (and society) are much better when collaborating between different sectors!
Valentín is a highly motivated graduate in Environmental Sciences with M. Sc. in Education & Applied Chemstry (2022). Valentín is keen on learning new experimental techniques and apply his nanostructures for energy conversion and storage. Valentín is certainly willing to help whoever ask him: you may find him in the lab always with a smile and a funny story!
Irene is an energetic graduate in Chemistry with M. Sc. in Education & Applied Chemistry (2021). After previous experience with nanoparticles at the Analytical Chemistry department, she joined our group for combining nanoparticles, interfaces and Langmuir monolayers. Her current interests include optically active organic molecules at fluid interfaces, as well as any topic she can jump in. The whole lab is happy to enjoy her positive attitude and passion for research!
ALUMNI
José Ángel Dorado Salatti is PhD in Analytical Chemistry and Environmental Science Degree in the University of Córdoba. He has extensive experience in the synthesis, characterization and application of nanostructured systems. He joined our group in 2020 as a postdoctoral researcher for exploring the beautiful and strange universe of the "chemical gardens".
David graduated in Chemistry from the University of Córdoba in 2017. From the first day he contacted our group he has proven an amazing vocation for the synthesis of exotic and great inorganic nanoparticles. David achieved his PhD in 2020, producing excellent nanoparticles and inspiring the whole group with his dynamic attitude. He joined the IMIBIC biomedical institute right after obtaining his PhD, looking for new nano/bio/med-challenges.
Pablo graduated in Chemistry from the University Complutense of Madrid in 2013. After a M. Sc. in nanoscience, he joined our group for obtaining his PhD in Physical Chemistry in 2019. Pablo is expert in interfaces, light scattering and all sorts of self-assembled structures. He can be found now at the CNRS-Bourdeaux as a postdoctoral scientist.
